Bassano Club House (BCH), where cyclists meet in Bassano del Grappa

If you set out to design a base for cyclists, it might look a lot like Bassano Club House (BCH). It sits in the historic centre of Bassano del Grappa, about twenty metres from the Ponte degli Alpini, and it is a meeting point for anyone who loves bikes, good food and good company.

BCH is a partner of ours, not something we run, and we are the tour operator running out of it. Here is why we like it so much, and why many of our guests end up spending their evenings there.

Group rides, with pasta at the end

Every week, riders of all kinds meet at BCH for a group ride that starts and finishes at the door. It is sociable rather than a race, with some proper scenery and just enough effort. When you get back, there is a plate of pasta waiting. In Italy, cycling and eating go together, and BCH takes that seriously.

Riding where the industry lives

Bassano and the towns around it are home to some well known names in cycling. On a ride from BCH you may find yourself next to people who work for brands like Castelli, Fizik or Selle Italia, which makes for good conversation on the climbs. Off the bike, the old centre of Bassano is on the doorstep.

The garden, and somewhere to stay

There is a villa garden at the back, which is where most rides end: a coffee, or a beer if it has been a long day, in the shade. If you want to stay, there are bedrooms set around the garden, comfortable and well thought through, with the town and the bridge a short walk away.

Why we send guests here

Because it is not only about the bikes. It is the stories swapped over pasta, the people you meet on the group ride, and the sense of being in a town where cycling is part of daily life rather than a tourist attraction.

Our Basso Heritage Experience uses Bassano Club House (BCH) as its base in town. Come for the bikes, stay for the garden.
